This Week's Riding

March 6, 2009 - 10:25pm

Monday - mileage: 33
Rode to work.
Came to the realization that moving to the sidewalk on the occasion I think I should let a car pass is a bad idea. Other drivers simply aren't looking for people in crosswalks. I almost got hit twice on Monday.
My eyes were really itchy. I think spring allergies are here.
Rode to Bike Saviours in Tempe after work.
Stayed too late, didn't have a snack, decided I couldn't make the ride to the polo court. Instead, I went to the bar, had a snack, hung out with Ryan & Jared (a happy surprise), and Chris picked me up in the car.

Tuesday - mileage: 0
Worked from home.

Wednesday - mileage: 15
Had an early-ish meeting so Chris drove me to work.
Rode home.
I was slow & sluggish but it only took 15 minutes longer than normal. I guess that means I'm always slow.
Probably should have eaten a snack in the late afternoon because I felt out of energy and was very hungry when I got home.
Used my clipless pedals* for the first time. Did fine the entire trip until home. I couldn't get my foot out in the driveway and fell. My knee hurts.
Spent a lot of the ride thinking about the new pedals and feeling the different muscles I was using.
Honeysuckle is blooming and everything smells really nice.
Saw ducks along the canal.
Ducks

Thursday - mileage: 20
Chris dropped me off at work. After work I rode to Tempe to meet up with friends for our weekly ladies ride.

Friday - mileage: 0

* I think clipless pedals is a stupid name. You can't properly describe something by saying what it isn't. Platform pedals don't have clips so they're clipless too. Besides, the cleat clips into the pedal!
