Talking with Kevin

Despite the rain, last night wasn't so bad. Summer called and we planned our trip. YEAH! We're going on a girl vacation. And, no, you can't come along! She and I don't get enough alone time so I'm totally looking forward to a whole weekend to ourselves. I chatted with Josh for awhile and he put up with my rather poor mood. I thought about making a cd for the cd mix of the month but couldn't get motivated. So I crawled in bed with the phone. Intended to just give Kevin a quick call to see how he's doing. We ended up talking for over 2 hours. So I stayed up too late but it was totally worth it.

Neither of us could quit talking. It's so amazing to me that we were in Lubbock at the same time experiencing very different but equally interesting things. I knew who he was and knew he was doing some cool stuff but I wasn't in the same circle. It's amazing to hear about it now. It's fun to hear his timeline and think of my own. It's good to know him now instead of then because he probably wouldn't have liked me much. Thank goodness for time and all the change it brings. Perspective is a beautiful thing.
