I totally agree, they really aren't. I've dealt with the situation first hand by dating a mormon. He was totally brainwashed and ignorant about the truth.
ok... I have to write fast.. I am at work and there are many mormons here.. Ilive in Mesa.. there is a mormon temple there.. and my stepfamily is mormon..
they are strange
Well.. you see my step father married my mother.. who is not Mormon. I believe they are very good people.. have good values.. and are incredible to work with.. no gossip.. never a bad word about another person.. it's just that.. my stepfathers kids.. don't talk to him.. Why? because he didn't marry a mormon.. he isn't going to the same Celestial Palace (heaven) as they are because they were married in the Temple and have lots of kids. They don't talk to me either because they don't want to waste time socializing with non-mormons. They believe in a segrated after life. They think I will go to heaven.. it's just not the same as theirs.. since the afterlife is forever.. why waste time getting to know people that you will never see again.. after you are dead?
to me.. that is a little strange.
That's actually a pretty common complaint for relatives of Mormon converts. For instance, non-Mormons aren't allowed to attend temple weddings, so if your son or daughter converts and marries a fellow Mormon (as the vast majority of Mormons do), you don't get to go to the wedding.
good point, chris. the thing is though, that mormons aren't christians. they want people to think they are a christian denomination, but they are so NOT.
