Perfect Man

January 6, 2005 - 6:59pm

I just met the perfect man for me and I totally have a crush. He's attractive, dresses well, smart, and an art-lover. Perfect, I tell you. Unfortuanately, I have no reason to see him again until six months from now since he's my new dentist.

Seriously!! I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall at your appointment. :)

The appointment wasn't really all that interesting. I filled out paperwork and sat in the lobby. I noticed that there were some architectural prints on the walls. One was signed by the architect. I was impressed. Eventually, I was brought back into the room and x-rays were taken by an assistant. Finally the dentist came in, shook my hand, and introduced himself. He complimented me on my purse (it's really stylish and beautiful). Then he checked my teeth. He dictated a few things to his assistant and since his fingers were in my mouth, I didn't talk. When he figured out that I have good teeth, he said they'd clean them right then. (Normally they make you come back for a second appointment.) While he was cleaning, we chatted. It was a bit disjointed because he was working on my teeth, which was slightly humorous to me. He asked about my work, which led to a conversation about school. I got to mention that I was an art student and now an MBA student. He was sufficiently impressed with my MBA. Turns out he did his undergrad at the school I'm doing my grad work at. I mentioned the architectural prints in his lobby and he said he has an interest in art. He has an art history minor. *Swoon* (Did I mention that his eyes are really pretty? Got a close-up look as I was lying there.) He is apparently collecting art for his office. After the cleaning, I looked at some of the pieces he had hanging up and we chatted about them. He suggested I see the latest art show at the museum at school. As I was paying my bill, I thanked him, and he told me good luck with school. Then I left. All the way to the car I was trying to formulate ways to see him again, but realized that I was being silly. Maybe he's not really the perfect man for me. For all I know he's gay. Did I mention he wore great shoes?

All the way to the car I was trying to formulate ways to see him again. Here's a crazy idea -- why don't you, er, call him and ask him out?

Josh is right! There's nothing crazy about asking him out. Maybe you can tell him you're going to see the art show and ask if he wants to come along. Then you can find out more about him and take it from there. You can take control of this situation just like you successfully do with many others! Go on, roar.
