Tonight while cruising on Facebook I ran across a guy I dated when I was much younger. He's married and has a billion kids. I was curious about his wife so I looked at her profile. I almost choked on my dinner when I read her "About me" which started with...
I have an terrific husband who loves me and I respect him...
She went on to share her thoughts on God, of course. All I could think was that she doesn't love her husband, she respects him. Not exactly in line with my personal values. But I've changed quite a bit from when I was younger.
Catty and passive-aggressive... now that is an efficient blog post!
I think, especially if they are Christian, that they may be actually referencing the following book which is big is Christian circles:

It doesn't mean that she does not love him; it is stating that often women are looking to be loved but men are looking to feel respected. That being said, her reference how she "respects her husband" may be higher praise than even saying she loves him, since perhaps that is what make him feel best.
Men and women; we're different you know :)
Wayne, excellent, excellent point. I didn't think about it in those terms. You're right. This might be high praise for him.
That's a 'kiss of death' when a woman says that about her man! Got nothing to do with religion.
She don't luv her man no more.
